Let them have it – Hot Letters

Like most of us, Abraham Lincoln often felt the urge to “let someone have it”. Lincoln had a mental diversion tactic to intercept this urge and would compose what he called a “hot letter.”

He would fill the letter with his angry thoughts and opinions, place it to one side and never send it.

When we do this today it is an email, an instant message or a phone call. How many times do we wish we never press send? How many relationships have we damaged?

There is a method to intercepting this urge and to be at your best in what we call 5% moments.
